Philosophy

Heather has raced in every situation, knows what it takes to succeed, and wants to help you reach your goals. She has been racing triathlon since 1997, has made a lot of mistakes and wants to help you avoid similar issues by sharing what she has learned over the last 17 years from training and injury to nutrition issues. Heather loves to push athletes to reach their maximum potential
without pushing them over the top.

As a busy mother of three, Heather fully understands the need to schedule around your work, family and social calendars while taking your fitness level to the next level. Bike Pedal Stroke Analysis

with Computrainer

A CompuTrainer is a premier indoor bike trainer with a precision ergometer measuring pedal stroke efficiency, power wattage, heart rate and cadence. During the analysis we will look at your right and left leg independently, something you cannot do on another platform. It’s what professional and avid triathletes and cyclists use to train hard and increase their fitness while riding indoors on their own bike.

In the privacy of my IronEdge Studio, we will hook up your bike and analyze your pedal stroke. Together we will go over drills that will help you become a more efficient and stronger cyclist.

For triathletes we fully analyze how efficient you are in the aero position and can use the Computrainer to our advantage to make efficient and positive changes.

Triathlon / Beginner Bike Handling

Skills Session

An outdoor based session after your computrainer analysis.

We will address proper cornering, pedal efficiency, climbing and descending.

Swim Technique & Underwater Swim

Video Analysis

Proven as the best way to improve your swim. Each athlete is video-taped above and below the waters surface from several different angles. Together we will review the video and identify key elements that need to be developed in order to improve swim efficiency. Each athlete will be given a specific list of drills to assist in correcting your stroke, thereby becoming the most efficient swimmer possible. Swimming is a very technique oriented sport and by developing the correct technique, an athlete is efficient – which equates to speed.

Running Gait Analysis / Run

Efficiency Drills

A clinical gait evaluation used in conjunction with a thorough history, physical examination and functional screen is a powerful tool for shedding light on how to best analyze running form. During the process we will analyze heel strike, pronation and supination as well as your cadence. Many athletes are unaware of their cadence. However, knowing your own and improving on its efficiency can help you become a faster and more efficient runner.

Strength & Conditioning

Session

From classic strength to sport specific, to body weight training I will create a customized, cutting edge program that will push you to meet your goals.

Whether its in the comfort of your own home or in the gym, together we will work to achieve the results you desire.

Mental Training for Sport

Session

Heather offers 30 & 60 minute sessions to help ensure your success. Many athletes train for hours physically but skip the mental preparation. Heather, along with Dr. Izzy Justice wrote a cutting edge book that provides insight on how to get the most out of yourself both physically and mentally. Heather works with athletes both near and far, one on one, over the phone, through google+ or Skype.

Youth Performance Training

I love the opportunity to bring my experiences as a Professional Triathlete, and 5x Ironman Champion to young, emerging athletes. I develop customized high school and youth performance training programs that incorporate the same training methodologies I have successfully used throughout my career and with professional athletes to support and prepare my young clients to achieve success in their chosen field of sport.

As a leader in performance training, I prepare my athletes to get the most out of their bodies by increasing strength, endurance, and flexibility, leading to increased productivity and decreased injury. Training also includes nutrition and regeneration techniques to improve performance and educate young athletes on how decisions off the field, between games, and at practices can improve their overall performance.
